Assignment:

Project Maanplein is a building complex that has been renovated and redeveloped from a former office function to multiple functions, such as offices and apartments. While redeveloping, the goals have also been set to elevate the durability and energy efficiency to modern standards. To achieve this, half of the facade and half of the current building services had to be replaced.

Our assignment in this project was to create a model that contains the reusable HVAC- and sanitary systems of the building “Maanplein Universe”. Our main objective was to turn the original mechanical building systems from old drawings into a new BIM model.

Result:

By building this model DIBS42 made it possible for the customer to coordinate and design their new systems more easily in combination with the existing ones. Also, the BIM model has been provided with custom data tailored to the customer’s need according to the latest Dutch BIM standards, such as the “BIM basis ILS 2.0”. Therefore, the customer knows exactly what to expect from the data inside this model. This also provides all current and future users of this model a solid standard about how to read and understand the added data inside the objects of this model, which eventually prevents data loss.
